With one of our lightweight, easy-to-use Waiter Pads you can record customer orders at the table side and immediately send them through to the kitchen and/or bar. No more scribbling so quickly that by the time you’ve queued for the till to put it into the system you struggle to remember what you’ve written. It’s like having your own personal order point in the palm of your hand.
As well as allowing you to take orders more quickly and efficiently they offer additional functions;
- Print bills
- Move items between tabs
- Add or remove service charge
- Apply vouchers
- Remove items from tabs (where permitted)
- Send Mains Away or other messages to the kitchen
- View and activate bookings (requires Restaurant Bookings module)
- Be notified when food is ready (requires Kitchen Monitor option)
You can even have different zones set up so that the tablets display different sets of buttons dependent on which zone they’re currently in. They also support the table plan, allowing you to see at a glance what stage of their meal every table is at.
Lightweight, Flexible & Cost-Effective
Touchscreen technology has rapidly become commonplace in recent years with devices becoming faster, more reliable and less expensive all the time. We’re therefore now able to offer a choice of handhelds for table ordering.
At the top of our range are the PartnerTech MT6620 and MT6825. These ruggedised tablets offer drop protection from 1.2m on wooden floors, are water- and dust-proof rated IP65 and in our tests provided around 5 hours of continuous 4K video streaming over wifi. The MT6620 comes with a spare battery and charging cradle, so it can run virtually constantly. With a 6″ screen, weighing less than 400g and with its own hand strap this unit is absolutely perfect for busy restaurants. The MT6825 has a larger 8″ screen and a longer battery life.
Both of the PartnerTech devices come with Windows 10. We then apply our own shell program which locks the device down to its intended purpose. This deters would-be thieves and also makes sure staff can’t play games or surf the internet when they should be working!
New to our range are the Lenovo Tab M7 and M8. These tablets have a 7″ or 8″ screen respectively and run the Android operating system. The M7 comes with its own protective cover, including a hand strap, and our testing saw the battery last around 10 hours. The M8 has a rugged case with a shoulder strap for greater portability.
Alternatively we can supply a slightly smaller, Android based tablet. This slim, versatile and stylish unit has a 5.5″ display but offers absolutely astounding battery life, measured in days rather than hours. Weighing just 235 grams, it’s even more resistant to dust and water ingress and although it doesn’t have a strap it will fit nicely into your pocket. Our Android devices are less locked-down than the Windows tablets but they are lower-priced.
The Memsec7 Waiter Pad software is a specially tailored version of the till program, allowing you to perform all the necessary functions involved in managing a table quickly and easily. The buttons and layouts are identical to your till, with some minor adaptations to accommodate the smaller screen size. Because the order is sent directly to the kitchen and/or bar printer from the tablet there’s no need for the waiter to leave the restaurant floor once they’ve taken an order. More time with customers can only mean more sales and better service.
