Memsec7 has optional cash drawer alerts to ensure that the drawer isn’t left open any longer than necessary. You can activate this option under Till>Till Settings on the Global tab. Simply tick the option ‘Cash drawer open warning..’ and set the number of seconds after which a warning should appear.
The cash drawer alerts report has a selection screen as shown below. You need to choose the date range, the type or types of alert and the staff members you wish to report on.
The alert types correspond to the various actions within the till program which can cause the cash drawer to open. There is also a MANUAL option to reflect any instance where the drawer may have been opened using a key or manual release. Similarly under the list of clerks there is an option for UNKNOWN to again show times where the drawer was opened without anybody being logged onto the till.
The report generated by your combination of selections will list in chronological order every time the drawer was left open for longer than the specified duration after opening for one of the selected reasons by one of the selected clerks.
The report contains details of which clerk, the alert type, which till, the time opened, time closed and the duration of the opening.
